The Enchanted Mesa |
According to Acoma legend, ancestral Acomas inhabited it. One day, the people were tending to the fields in the Valley when a violent rainstorm broke out. The rain washed away the access to the mesa leaving a young girl and her grandmother stranded on top. Rather than perish from starvation, the two leaped from its cliff walls. |
